INDUSTRIES SERVED

THE INDUSTRIES THAT BUILD, MOVE, AND POWER THE WORLD.
WE KEEP THEM RUNNING.

Every industry buys castings differently. Municipal work lives and dies by the governing spec. Automotive lives by repeatability. Agriculture lives by the calendar.

What buyers in all of them share: a failed or late casting costs far more than the casting. Here’s what GW delivers in each — and the constraint we build each program around.

Infrastructure & Municipal

What rules this work: specification compliance, documentation, and construction schedules that don’t move.

GW produces to the governing spec, documents everything, and delivers on project timelines — from waterworks and drainage hardware to heavy structural castings and multi-ton counterweights for bridges, gates, and marine structures. Very few sources can pour the largest of these; we know which ones can.

Typical parts: valve and hydrant components, frames and grates, drainage hardware, utility castings, counterweights, structural components.

Automotive & Transportation

What rules this work: repeatability at volume — thousands of parts, every one identical, every release on schedule.

GW supplies machined, finished, line-ready iron and aluminum castings with the process control and dimensional verification volume programs demand. When a supplier fails mid-program, we’re experienced at resourcing quickly: qualifying tooling, running first articles, and restoring supply without a line-down.

Typical parts: brackets and housings, brake and driveline components, suspension parts, castings for specialty and low-speed vehicles.

Heavy Equipment

What rules this work: parts with real mass that survive shock, abrasion, and decades of duty cycles — delivered on an OEM’s schedule.

Counterweights measured in tons, housings, bases, and undercarriage components in tough, dense iron. GW has been casting for hard service since 1932, and our network includes the foundries that can pour the big work.

Typical parts: counterweights, housings and covers, machine bases, drivetrain and undercarriage components, wear parts.

Industrial Machinery

What rules this work: rigidity and precision. The machine is only as good as the foundation it’s built on.

Grey and ductile iron bases, frames, and housings — cast for damping, machined flat, square, and true, with critical surfaces verified. One supplier for casting and machining means the tolerances on your foundation are one company’s responsibility, not two companies’ dispute.

Typical parts: machine bases and frames, gearbox housings, pump bodies, flywheels and pulleys, components for milling machines, lathes, and presses.

Agricultural Machinery

What rules this work: the calendar. Planting and harvest don’t reschedule around a late casting.

GW builds ahead of your season: parts cast to forecast, stocked domestically, and released as your build schedule demands. Rugged iron components engineered for dirt, load, and weather — available when the season starts, not after it.

Typical parts: gearbox and transmission housings, hubs, hitch components, tillage and implement parts, wear components.

Marine

What rules this work: corrosion. Materials and coatings have to be matched to salt water, or the part’s service life is measured in months.

GW matches the material to the environment — bronze, stainless, and protective-coated iron — for hardware, pump systems, and shipboard equipment, up through multi-ton counterweights for ferry and dock infrastructure.

Typical parts: pump housings and impellers, dock and ferry hardware, counterweights, engine and drive components, deck equipment.

HVAC & Building Systems

What rules this work: steady volume and long service life. Building systems run every day for decades, and production lines that build them can’t wait on castings.

GW runs volume programs with consistent quality and managed inventory — parts produced to forecast, stocked domestically, released as your line consumes them, with inventory off your books.

Typical parts: pump and blower housings, valve bodies, burner and boiler components, fan hubs, damper and fitting hardware.
